Imagine you’re 16 years old, in a packed car with friends driving to the county fair and “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” comes on the car stereo. Everyone else in the car sings along to the entire song, including the quirky backing vocal tracks, from start to finish. And when the song is over you say, “That was a really cool song! Who was that?”
That’s what happens when your mom growing up in the 60s was a member of the Monkees Fan Club instead of the Beatles Fan Club.
