Things I Liked 10 Years Ago But Don’t Like Now #004: Star Wars Legos
1999 not only marked the premiere of the first Star Wars prequel but also the year Lego started making Star Wars Legos. I can’t even begin to count the number of times I had wanted Lego to do this while I was a little kid. Now I had placed a vow on never getting Legos again a few years back as I was a teenager and, well, that’s when you’re supposed to be getting under a girl’s shirt and not, REPEAT NOT, trying to build the climactic train scene from Back to the Future Part III from your expansive Lego collection. Somehow my inner 10 year old got the best of me and I bought the Sith Infiltrator.
I can imagine a scene where I’m at the CD section of K-Mart deciding between that and The Smashing Pumpkins’ “Adore.” Cut to a different scene two weeks later where I’m trying to impress a girl with this toy when what I should have been doing was making out with her to “Appels + Oranjes.”
